I Neglect

I am unable to express how ardently I desire that you become More

Then you have been.

I lose you in my imagination

Dilapidated and distressed.

How I regret

How I have neglected you, this state of disrepair,Β

I am a decay of that which I have known.

  1. ‘Tis human to lose those whom we desire to our imagination. What is extraordinary is to see people for who they really are. I went nearly 30 years on the planet before I found someone who did not wear 3-D glasses or gaze into a kaliedoscope when they looked at me. Write on.

  2. It occurs to me that I may have completely fucked up my interpretation of your poem. I have two truths at this moment:
    1) I have alcohol in my system and it just doesn’t move through the system as quickly as it used to.
    2) I don’t understand poetry at all, and don’t know what the heck you’re talking about, but I still really liked your poem and felt compelled to comment, despite my own ridiculousness.

    1. This comment made me laugh! Lol thank you for commenting & following. I will check out more of your work once I have time. πŸ™‚
You were right, most of my writing is me mostly talking to myself or parts of my character. Sometimes I refer to others but it’s all very ambiguous. I’m not really a fan of writing about things I dislike because if I’ve forgotten and then re-read some time later, those feelings come back to me, so I prefer to be vague. I hate feelings.
